French insurance company AXA launched a new social care Facebook group called “AXA People Protectors, Protect people in Vietnam”. The concept is simple : for every “like” that this group will have, AXA will give the opportunity to its new members to plant a mangrove tree in Vietnam.
This group, included in their main Facebook group “AXA People Protector” has been created to financially support projects all-over the world, following four main themes : Safety, Environment, Health and Charity. After successfully launching the “Like is Life” project, improving water access in Benin for every “likes”, AXA created a new concept to involve its group’s members. This new project give them the opportunity of planting a tree around a Vietnam area, letting them the choice in the exact place on the map.
This interaction between members, the company and those projects has attracted more than two hundred thousand people on this group.

There is a huge movement that was developped recently. It is called Kony 2012 and it is very popular on facebook because they did a buzz with their video talking about Joseph Kony. The video has been viewed more than 100 million times this month. The goal is to make him famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest. But recently, a crisis occured in this non-governemental organization. The co-founder of the group was arrested in San Diego, naked and drunk. Here is the post on facebook in order to deal with the crisis that affected the reputation of the organization. “From CEO Ben Keesey:
Jason Russell was unfortunately hospitalized yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition. He is now receiving medical care and is focused on getting better. The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday. Jason’s passion and his work have done so much to help so many, and we are devastated to see him dealing with this personal health issue. We will always love and support Jason, and we ask that you give his entire family privacy during this difficult time.”
They tried to handle the crisis but do you think they did it in the right way?
